SYMPTOMS OF CHILD ABUSE AND THE REMEDY FOR FAMILY SECURITY

Abstract

This study examines the symptoms or signs of a child who is abused, maltreated or neglected. The problems of child abuse cut across ethnic, economic, social and even people with educational backgrounds. There are many form of child abuse, and all forms of abuse have their negative implications. A child that is physically abused can even manifest an injury to the central nerves system and interfere with his cognitive functioning and there by becoming problem to the family and even society in general. An emotional abused child feels of worthless and has poor self image and this invariably results in social and school maladjustment. Sexually it can ruin the destiny of the child and hamper educational and even social advancement. Possible remedies for family security were highlighted for the reduction and possible eradication of the problems.
