Abstract

This%20paper%20overviews%20the%20challenges%20being%20faced%20by%20the%20Nigerian%20tertiary%20education%20system%20and%20the%20desirable%20changes%20needed%20to%20facilitate%20national%20development.%20In%20the%20process,%20problems%20bedeviling%20the%20sector%20such,%20as%20lack%20of%20adequate%20lecture%20theaters,%20modern%20teaching%20facilities%20and%20unqualified%20personnel,%20were%20highlighted.%20The%20desirable%20changes%20needed%20to%20improve%20the%20sector%20were%20proffered,%20thus%20paving%20the%20way%20for%20national%20development.%20Recommendations%20include%20the%20need%20to%20inculcate%20the%20love%20of%20teaching%20in%20teachers,%20encourage%20Entrepreneur%20Training%20and%20the%20inclusion%20of%20ICT%20in%20the%20process%20of%20teaching%20and%20learning%20for%20national%20development,%20among%20others.%20Key%20Words:%20Desirable%20Changes,%20National%20Development,%20Tertiary%20Education
